Silica for materials
Explore rice-husk silica as a raw material for aerogel and other useful products.
Sustainability
Our ambition is to help reduce energy wasted as heat and explore useful new roles for rice husks and materials from old solar panels.
Explore Our ApproachStart with energy
Better insulation can reduce the energy needed to keep spaces and products warm or cool. We work with manufacturers and project teams to explore how aerogel could play a part.
The wider picture matters too: the materials used, the energy needed to make them and how the finished product performs over its lifetime.

Rice-husk research
Rice husks are the outer shells removed when rice is processed. Our research explores recovering silica—the material used to make silica aerogel—and finding useful roles for what remains.

Investigate agricultural uses, including fertiliser applications, for the material left after silica extraction.
Solar-panel recovery
When solar panels reach the end of their working life, they still contain useful materials. Our research explores ways to separate and recover them, including the potential to use silica from glass in new materials.
We welcome discussions with researchers and partners who share this interest.

Our ambition for Thailand
We aim to contribute through insulation innovation, resource-recovery research and partnerships in Thailand. Our focus is practical: use resources thoughtfully and assess the impact of each approach.
